The Santa Margherita Ligure Administration got on december 2005 the ISO 14001 certification renewal concerning it's Environmental Management System

This tool allows to the Municipality to manage in the right way all the environmental aspects, direct and indirect generated by it's activities on the territory identifying the possible improvement areas, allowing to schedule concrete environmental goals, applying the Environmental Policy, signed by the Major and approved by the city council with the Act nr 85 - 11.17.2005 .

following the scheduled activities by the SGA, the  Environmental management inforation system has been created. This is a tool wanted by the City Councillors as support for a periodical check of the main monitored parameters and verify the suability of the signed environmental policies taking the needed measures for possible actions and projects modifications concerning the environmental field.

The Informative System concerns the most important environmental main themes regarding the Administration environmental management, focusing on waste management, on natural resources consumption and pollution.

On this base, the Informative System wants to be come a communication tool too, for good practices diffsion, made by the Municipality and the citizen, tourists and economic operators living on the area awareness.
